Risk-based testing

Risk-based testing helps you to prioritize the scope of your tests. It is used for test planning, follow-up, and reporting.

Learning objectives

You will become better at test scope risk evaluation, as well as receiving the following other benefits:

  • You will know what risk-based testing is and what it can be used for
  • You will learn to perform a risk analysis and test it in practice
  • You will try out translating risks into action
  • You will try out using risks as a basis for prioritizing testing

Target audience

You participate in prioritizing testing, either as a tester or in a role as responsible for conducting larger or smaller testing cycles, whether you are a tester, test co-ordinator, test manager, project manager with testing responsibilities, etc. Experience with software testing and IT projects, as well as familiarity with the basic concepts is expected.

Course format

The course is structured around short theoretical overviews that ensure a good understanding of the methods and their value. You will test out the theory and risk workshopping on a case. This will give you practical insight into and dialogue about the methods. Further it gives you the ability to transfer them to your own project.

The course will be characterized by dialogue and debate based on your, the other participants’, and the instructor’s experience.

Meet our Trainers

Lars Bjørstrup

Meet Lars, the Lead Education Architect and instructor. He holds a degree in computer science, is a certified teacher, and has been working with IT in various forms. Lars has experience with testing and quality management tools through his carreer.rnLars has a background as a professional illustrator, having designed books and newspaper covers, among other things. His ability to draw and facilitate is used extensively in his courses, to the delight of the participants. Lars teaches a range of courses, including ISTQB Foundation, Advanced Test Manager, Advanced Technical Test Analyst, Agile Extension, and everything in between.

Enzo Henriksen

Enzo has been working with IT for almost 40 years in many areas of the IT business in Denmark and abroad. Since 2000 he has worked with Quality Assurance, Test, and corresponding functions. The last 6 years he has dived into the agile transformation journey, and this has given me a deep understanding of agile development, SCRUM and Kanban framework. In 2020 he started to teach courses such as ISTQB Foundation, Test Management and Agile Testing etc.

Annemette Clement

She is a accomplished QA mentor and trainer with a master’s degree in IT and product development and has worked as a consultant in testing and quality assurance since 2016. Her expertise spans Test mentor, Test Management, QA Analysis, and Technical Testing across diverse industries. rnShe holds accreditations to instruct in globally recognized certifications such as ISTQB Foundation, ISTQB Agile Tester Extension, ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst, and ISTQB Advanced Technical Test Analyst. Additionally, she has taught numerous TMAP certification courses and, notably, practical test courses.
