About PHLAKE and CHINAH Last year marked PHLAKE’s major breakthrough. About a year after their first real concert, they won no less than five awards at the DMA 2016. During the following year, they toured across the country, played sold-out venues and festivals, and delivered solid hits such as Angel Zoo, Faded, and especially Pregnant, which had everyone singing along to the chorus about swimming in Oreos. With backgrounds in hip hop and cover bands respectively, Jonathan Elkjær and Mads Bo have combined the best of their worlds to create their own sound: Rythm&Balls – a mix of the smoothness of R&B and the edge of hip hop beats. They are already familiar with performing at the Lawn, having played at the Offspring Festival last year and stepping in at short notice when the American band Haim had to cancel. We look forward to welcoming them back to Tivoli. Lead singer Fine Glindvad’s vocals are the glue in the mix of genres that CHINAH specializes in. Their blend of R&B, pop, and electronica forms the essence of the minimalist Scandinavian tone that has paved the way for their success over the past year. This success has included Danish and international shows, millions of Spotify streams, and not least the P3 Gold award as P3 Talent of the Year 2016 – a prestigious honor. In other words, a confident band will take the stage at the Lawn and fill Tivoli with great vibes. Read more at www.fredagsrock.dk
