On June 12, 2019, Trifork QI will participate in the DSTB conference, where we will present a practical approach to building test automation into your sprints.
At Trifork QI, we have developed a technology-independent automation framework built on microservices. The framework can be used for automation across all platforms, and technologies and tools can easily be replaced over time — without having to rebuild your automation from scratch. It is a future-proof framework that is easy to maintain and ensures that the different competencies within the team can contribute in the most optimal way.
Our technical consultants and instructors, Helge Nymand and Jens Riggelsen, will take the stage at 11:30 AM, where they will spend an hour explaining how the framework works and, most importantly, the value such a framework can bring.
We will also have a booth at the conference, where you are welcome to stop by for a chat about the framework, test automation in general, our courses, or testing and quality assurance more broadly.
About Our Presentation at DSTB
Shift left, do right; a practical approach to building test automation into your sprints.
Test automation and agile development belong together like alchemy and Nicolas Flamel — it’s hard to mention one without the other. The reality, however, is that most companies struggle to integrate test automation into their sprints — or even to make testing a natural part of the sprint at all. In many cases, this results in small “waterfalls,” where testing becomes a bottleneck at the end of the sprint, or is even pushed entirely outside the sprint.
Trifork QI’s master alchemists, Jens and Helge, have followed in Nicolas Flamel’s footsteps and found the philosopher’s stone. They have built a test framework that addresses many of the challenges organizations face:
- We leverage the different competencies within the team
- We unite the three amigos: testers, developers, and business stakeholders
- We bring testing into the sprint early
- We automate
- We align with Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, and Continuous Delivery
- We write in a language formulated as acceptance criteria
- In other words, we power the entire setup, optimize the process, and ensure focus on building the right product with the right quality.
We open the doors to the alchemists’ lab and show you the ingredients our concept is built upon. We practically hand over the formula and explain how we test both functional and non-functional requirements without relying on expensive conventional software products. Instead, we use the cloud and containers to create a practical and simple solution for test automation — ensuring a sensible division of testing tasks between humans and machines.
- This provides, among other things, the following benefits:
- Greater professional focus for testers
- Communication about quality within the team — not just defect reporting
- Scalability, fast test execution, and rapid feedback
It is a solution that does not place heavy demands on either testers or developers, but instead increases collaboration across the entire team — benefiting both individuals and the project as a whole.
About the Conference
DSTB (Danish Software Testing Board) is the Danish software testing committee representing Denmark in ISTQB. The association’s purpose is to serve as ISTQB’s Danish member, promoting awareness, adoption, and support of the “ISTQB Certified Tester” scheme in Denmark, as well as participating in the further development of ISTQB.
DSTB was founded in 2009 and hosts an annual conference in Copenhagen to promote testing and quality assurance in Denmark. Read more about DSTB here.
Location: Hotel Radisson Blu Scandinavia, Amager Boulevard 70, 2300 Copenhagen
